I know some people who have that setup, and parts for it are very hard to come by.
I would not be surprised if you ended up using the box you bought for parts or a spare, as the most likely way to get the column is off a truck with a complete setup.
Also, be aware that there are a few different columns for different years, and different sizes of truck.
As far as I understand it you can not use a D300 column on a W100, but you can use a D100 or D200 column on a W100. From what I have been told the W300 column and box are different from the D100-200 and W100-200 box and column.
Check your parts books before parting with any cash, and be aware that the drag link and pitman arm may be different, you will need the one for at least a Power Steering W100, if not a 1959-60 Power Steering W100.
