This may be worth mentioning. In the past occasionaly friends cars have all the sudden stopped running. All of the sudden just dead. Two times the ground wire under the dynaflite plate (plate the points are mounted to) had broken. I know you said you have juice to certain points. I don't get the electrics and know I should but thought this may be a help.
