If the diaphram goes ba in a structly mechanical, then the truck dies. If the diaphram goes bad in the composite sytem you plan, you will fill up your crank case with gas, diluting your oil, possible lunching your engine due to oil failure.

The Holley's that I'm familiar with are displacement vane pumps, your mechanical won't pull through them, so you really wouldn't have a 'back-up ystem'. If the electric goes bad, you are SOL. So you really don't have a dual-pump system, only an electric anyhow. Which I find un-necessary. Mecanicals last 10 years. The best place for the electric as a back up is stowed under the seat.
