With a fresh engine and stock gears the truck is designed to go 55. but, it is a bit noisy and 50 to 52 is more realistic for sanity. The least expensive way to go faster is 11.00 x 16 tires. They are around 3 inches taller than 9.00 x 16s and give you around 5 to 8 more mph. 10.50 x 16 bias directionals will be available in the next few months also if you want to look more "period". They are just a hair shorter than the 11.00s
