We've got quite a flock of wild turkeys around town this spring, so I stuck an old mirror out in the yard to see what they'd do. If you have turkeys, I'd highly recommend it. They're very entertaining. Here's the big Tom trying to impress himself. He'll puff himself up and strut around in front of the mirror. He'll peck at his image and then look around the back to see where the "enemy" turkey is. They never figure it out. Even the hens get fooled. One hen stood stock still and just looked at herself for an hour or so, long after the rest of the flock had left. Maybe she was trying to figure out if her dress made her look fat.
