I tried that...with the added greas the canister "shmushed" the gasket out of the way...since there isn't a lip to keep the gasket in place. I even tried weatherstrip adhesive!
Funny...I bought the adapter, adapter bolt & gasket from Dodge today. The gasket they sell is hard gasket material...not rubber.
This would have been much easier to install but regardless, I installed the adapter & spin on filter within less than 5 minutes....no leaks...problem solved!
