I have a 1939 truck with a 'foil' radiator core - made out of pressed corrugated sheet apparently, and looks like a honeycomb core when finished.

...and a 1940 truck with a honeycomb core. 1941-up had fin and tube.

The problem is that re-coring a foil radiator is about as expensive as the truck, and while a small repair on a honeycomb is easy enough, re-coring it will cost you big bucks too.

If you have a fin and tube radiator available just get it re-cored and save yourself the money. If you can buy a honeycomb radiator in good condition that doesn't need cored grab it, otherwise not worth it unless you are into super originality on 1940 trucks....
