The caboose has a sliding side door. This type of caboose was used to haul "less than car load" freight. They would often haul milk, chickens, farm produce and general merchandise that was to be delivered along the route that was run that day. Farmers sent their products to town and received merchandise that they had purchased all via the side door caboose.
