Dan- Don't limit yourself to the WC12, There were other WC models of that era such as the WC1 which was also a closed cab. The WC21? was an open cab with the great looks of the WC12 hood and winch. Also the later 3/4 ton WC52 is cool too.

I have heard that the M37 is a great one for smoother ride and are relatively abundant. I thought that repowering with a diesel would be nice.

WDX-WM300 trucks are just so classic when you think of 'power wagons'. Finding good sheet metal can be problematic, but at least the metal is so thick that hammer-dolly work can be done.

Beware of over priced trucks-seems lately that folks are really pushing the envelope on prices for FFPW's. Since they are going for a lot-makes more sense to restore your own if your mechanically minded and willing put the time in.
