Hmmm, one shop I worked at had a magnetic clinometer. You removed the dust cap, and stuck it on the hub surface. Then turn wheel one way, and set it. Then turn wheel other way, and read it. I suspect there would be lots of math involved in doing it with your inclinometer: trigonometry, cosines, etc.

Caster is what returns the wheels to straight ahead. It's hard to turn the wheel if too much, wanders if too little. Caster degrees is the forward/rearward tilt of the steering axis, from vertical. It should be back at the top, so the tread/road juncture is behind the steering axis. Perhaps there is something else you can measure, like the knuckle seam from level? If the knuckle were disassembled. maybe you could directly measure the angle?
