Richard:

All I can say is "Welcome to the club." As some here know, I was injured over 10 years ago and suffered A LOT of nerve damage. The major part being my sciatic crushed in 2 places.

I went the full gambit, seeing experts and specialist all over the place, however, I couldn't afford the places that Doc mentioned. Bottom line was nothing could be done, and I'd have to either live with it, or end it all.

They had me try almost everything out there, and I even tried experimental stuff from the drug companies. After 3 years of this, they finally determined that MS Contin and MSIR were the only thing that could help.

Now I'm old school, in that I don't want all the pain gone, to me, it's natures way of sayin "Don't do that stupid." Now because of insurance reasons, and general incompetence, I had to seek out new doctors.

Each time, I had to go thru the same hoops all over again. Some doctors will prescibe ya anything. Some won't. At one point I was taking 37 pills a day (not counting my pain meds). This lead to my actual demise.

What happened is that I was getting meds, then more to counteract the side effects, and still more to counter act those side effects. Due to an allergic reation, I suffered renal failure and died 3 times. This could have been prevented if proper tests were done, but insurance didn't cover it.

I'm not going to go into the whole holy terror of the mess, but while in the hospital I was hijacked by a quack pain specialist who didn't like the fact I was on morphine. So, he turned me into a veggie for over 6 months with these witches brew of meds. I fired him.

So before ya agree to take anything, make sure your well aware of what might happen. In some cases, it might be worth it to be physically addicted because even though morphine is that way, on low doseages, you can still think normally.

I can't begin to tell you how it felt to have my son hug me and cry, saying how glad he was to have me back after I quit taking that concoction of crap.

I just started with a still even new doctor recently, and he wants me to try all this crap I've taken before. When I start noticing changes (both physical or mental) I stop. I had gotten myself down to 6 pills a day (still not counting the pain meds, but also including vits & vit supps), but this new guy is starting to load me up.

All I'm sayin is READ the warnings and ask if it's worth it. Have ya looked into yoga? Seriously. Sometimes these things happen to us as we get older cause we're not as limber as we used to be. Also give yourself the proper mindset.

GOOD LUCK
Ugg
