First make sure filter is available thru local parts store (dealer serviced with entire pump module only $$$) easier job if tank is low on fuel and vehicle underbody is clean. Start engine then pull fuse to fuel pump to relieve the high pressure. dis-connect battery. Undo the hose clamps on the filler neck and purge line(carefull plastic is used everywhere, unlike FFPW's and its old). Disconnect electrical connector. Support the tank and remove the two straps. Hardest part is now to remove the large plastic lock ring. Official tool #6856 is a large spaner that allows a breaker bar in the center to break it loose(might be able to rent a similar tool at parts store?). Remove fuel pump module and filter is snaped onto the bottom.
