The only thing that bugs me about te ASPCA guidelines on food intake for animals is, there are no statisics or data on how much is "deadly" to an animal. You will take a risk with anything/quantity given to your animal or yourself for that matter. But if your dog has been eating grapes/chocolate cookies since it was born, it's obviously adapted. Look at dogs in the wild, although there life expectency is failry short, the still survive and I don't think that it's food that kills them.

Take Chocolate for instance. Are we talking chocolate bars, chocolate ice cream or chocolate cookies. They all have varied amounts/quantity of chocolate.

Each and everyday, the news tells people what is good or bad to eat in their lives. They don't know anymore then we do. There are way too many variables in life to know that too much red meat will kill someone. Too much of anything will harm someone.

Stuff like this makes me wonder about our society on the whole. Yes, we all love our pets to death and will do anything for them, but if I want to give them a chocolate cookie, I sure in heck will.
