Wood Bed Question

A friend of mine is in the early stages of restoring a '59 D-100 pickup. We're going to put a cheap (poplar or pine) wood floor in the bed for now but we need to know the correct thinkness of the wood.

Just eyeballing when the strips are positioned, it looks like it would accomodate up to 3/4" material but we want to be sure.
