An old welder told me this years ago,now I'm old,and over the years I've built several work benches for myself,and it's dead on for the stature and height of the person who is going to use it. It is very simple,take a hammer say like a 2 or 3 lb machinest hammer. Gently pretend to strike a table top, WHERE you hold that hammer comfortably and relaxed in your hand and arm that is YOUR natural working height. It will be perfect for YOU and most of your projects you do on the bench. Oh yeah,you'll need someone to measure from the ground to the hammer head bottom as you do this.
Don't go by what height others say,because everyone is different, build it for YOU.
