Wouldnt those directions assume that when you move your truck 25 feet from the door that it is still sitting perfectly level? Or, if you are inside the garage and back up 25 feet you will be poking out the back wall (unless you are Dana). There is a slight rise up to most garage doors so it seems like you would be making a false adjustment. Probably written by an insurance person who has never picked up a screwdriver thingy in his life.
