A source is looking into 300m shafts for both M37 and FFPW's for those that drive to places other than the coffee shop and backroads. That being said, though 300m is considered the top material you are still hamstrung by the design. That 19 spline design "ain't gonna git it" when pressed.

Suggestion: Dana 60 and 14B (though heavy and tall) out of a CUCV will cost you roughly $1500; you get disc brakes on the D60 and a detroit locker in the rear 4.56 gear ratio. $200 more gets discs for the rear, you still need rims but they are dirt cheap and plentiful. You lose the cool Budd rims but you also (1)lose the split rings that few folks want to play with anymore and (2) the worry of snapping an axle shafts everytime you color outside the lines.
