global warming does contribute to this kind of heavy snowfall. usually, the air would be too cold to hold any of this moisture this late in winter...but all ya gotta do is warm up the atmosphere a few degrees and voila!! we have the crazy weather of this winter (warm one day, freezing the next, rain the day after that, and sleet and snow that night)
