That's always been my thought Paul. If it was done once in numbers it should be viable to do again. Testament to them as they didn't even have CNC stuff or CAD programs to test before making anything! The guys at Vintage say the originals frames vary some and that it why they have some fit/seal problems with them.

If I had to guess I'd say it was made with a roller bender or sandwich press. Forming it around a solid backstop pattern and hydraulically "pressing" it into the form to make the 2 bends. I'm not real experienced with form bending as rule, just from the small stuff I've done.

I've wondered about forging a frame in aluminum as well. I think plastics would break with colder temps and such. Any other thoughts? Kevin
