I test drove an m-37 once. After driving it one block the fan belt broke and I thought it currious that the generator pully was still spinning. I quickly realized that the generator was now a motor. I used a 12V battery from my car, and other than the water pump and the gen/motor it ran well, stopping was another issue.
1) did I have the battery polarity wrong?
if I did, how can you tell with only two cables in the battery box
2) would this be a regulator problem?
it didn't appear to be original wiring, so who knows
