A neat trick from Steve Wataha of Rock Springs, WY. He uses VolksWagen sending units (VDO number 90037/8 481) for Power Wagons. Hook the sending unit up to your fuel gage and hold it beside your tank. Raise and lower the arm (which you will have to extend by the way) while having someone watch the gage. Determine where you have to bend the arm to allow full travel of the arm to correspond to 'Full' and 'Empty' on the gage. This works great and the 5 litle holes already in the sending unit will line up with the holes in the tank. You may have to rotate the sending unit to point the arm in the right direction, though. I hope this works for you.
