I used a benjamin moore black "low lustre enamel" that has a rust inhibitor in it. I used a wire wheel on a 4 1/2" gringer to get all the goop off the frame first. You just paint it on with a bursh and it lays out smooth and thick. It's very tough also. I like it better than a PPG frame paint I used on another truck (and paid a lot more money for to boot!) I used 1.5 quarts for a PW frame. Good luck!
