The problem you describe is exactly what I had when I added the Power Vacuum booster on the Bumblebee. The Master Cylinder suggested was
only a 1& 1/4 bore. I changed it to a 1 & 5/16 bore Bendix 11584 (NAPA 39017) and the problem was immediatelly cured.
Originally my pedal would go almost to the floor, yet was hard. Now with the larger bore MC I have hard pedal about mid range. Same with my Carryall.
Granted, I am running 4 wheel disks on both.
Are you running a residual pressure valve on the rear drums ?
