I dropped the transfer case, (a lot easier since it had been out before). I had another T case and opened both of them up at the same time. What I found is that I had reversed the center gear. It will slide it either way, but the teeth were barely touching causing all the grinding. You have to be sooooo careful to reassemble everything the way it came out. Tom
