If the paint is burned off, chances are that the sheet metal is warped. As you know, just the heat from sandblasting a body part can warp it, so actual fire would be worse in general.
The rust can be solved by sandblasting all parts, using something other than sand. I think Walnut shells is one option.
Now, if the paint is just sort of melted off, or singed in places, you might have less problems.
Since the old PG's did not fit together well from the factory, I would think mildly warped body parts could be forced back into shape as needed.
