There's nothing wrong with using grade 8 bolts for this application. You'll never ever break one. You'd tear the nut, washers & springs through the sheet metal floor before one of those bolts would ever shear.
An impact hard enough to shear those bolts...well lets just say the bolts shearing would be the least of your problems!
