It is basically the same. 1939 - 1947 2WD have to stake pockets where militarys have 3(one extra in the center) Pockets on militarys have a stop braket mid way down to hold bows in position. Military tailgayes have no DODGE embossed on them. 2 different style hinges on militarys too, I'm not sure which the civilian has. Fenders and filler panels(below bed) are different as well but I'm sure you've allready noticed that. Militarys have D rings(welded) or hooks(riveted) on the sides for holding the canvas on. On mine, The miliyary bed sides were a few .0001 thicker than the 2wd versions. I don't know if this was ordered that way or just differences in the suppliers of the time. It IS noticably stronger.
