You are in luck. I am a mechanic by trade with GM certifications. I know for fact that a 4.3 v6 for a 2001 needs 55lbs at idle and just over 60lbs under load. As far as pumps go napa has some good aftermarket inline pumps for fuel injection. I am sure that most anyone would agree that it is best to mount the pump as close to the tank as possible. As for the wireing of the pump the factory computer has an output that goes to a relay. Watchout if you are going to use the factory computer cause it has an extensive anti theft circuit.
