Many years ago before I started hunting the fella's (Grandpa and uncles)were in the Blues of OR, East of hwy 395/Dale hunting elk. Overnight storm dropped snow nearly to their waists. They had a 4 cylinder Willys PU-no winch and gutless. Had a '41 FF with a Braden winch on it. They spent about 6 hours winching both of them together about a 1/2 mile. Had the winch gears smoking so put a pretty good pull on it. Broke the cable several times but finally got out. From then on, my one uncle would always say when snow started "Three more flakes and I'm leavin!"
