1. A 10 minute drain is extremely fast for a battery. Use a hydrometer to check each battery cell. Usually 1 or 2 cells will cause that quick a drain. A bad cell will read much lower than the others. A battery with good cells will read fairly the same in each cell.

2. Is the "B" terminal directly connected to the coil? If so, ground.

3. Do you have an ignition switch wired in the system? If not, ground

4. Do you have a solinoid wired in the system? If not, battery will not charge, but it sounds as though you might be wired with a solinoid and ammeter.

5. Depending what electrical system you have, print the PIF wiring diagram that matches it. Using a pencil, connect the dashes and dots - BIG kid stuff. Make sure your truck is wired accordingly.

6. Since you have nothing else connected, take off the negative battery ground cable and rotate the engine to open the distributor contact points. Once open, strike the negative cable against the negative battery terminal. If you get a spark, you have a ground with the regulator' cut out relay which will require replacing the regulator. The cut out keep electrical current from returning to the generator from the battery when the engine is off - prevents battery drain.

This is enough to keep you busy awhile.
