Well, it can be done. However its way to large. You will need to cut the firewall and build a dog house to enclose the rear of the engine. You will need to do substantial suspension changes in the front for the large added weight. And you dont need the added power of a 6B series when a 4B series has all the power you could want for a M37/WC or PW.

I suggest you consider a Cummins 4B series engine. It fits without cutting anything, minor suspension changes, any dodge or gm tranny that was mated to a 6B series will also mount right up to a 4B series (plug and Play). The 4B series have power, great fuel MPG approaching 30 mpg.

Check out my Image Event Site. Look at 1943 Dodge Carryall. It has a Cummins 4BTA (CPL 857), NV-4500 married to a NP-205. Also look at M37 Bandit. The M37 has a 4BTA (CPL857), NV-4500 married to a NP-205. By browsing these albums you will see all the room available for the 4B series.

For budget purposes, if you do not have a engine, tranny, T case, and with all the extras, $8000 is a reasonable number for a total conversion with Power Disk Brakes and Power Steering. If you are not able to fab everything yourself, the $$$ will go thru the roof having the work done. Basically there is nothing off shelf to do the conversion.

There are a lot of albums on PW Stuff, please feel free to browse everything.

If you really get serious in doing the conversion, I will help you.

Paul
