I ran all of these in these sizes and this order:

I don't remember all of the exact sizes and names, but I remember the very best combination I ever had was the Goodyear Wrangler RT tires I had on a 1980 Jeep CJ5. They were really wide and squatty with aggressive side lugs. They stuck out about 2 inches past the fender flares and required no suspension lift with the tires just starting to rub the inner fenders at full lock/full cross-up conditions. That little Jeep would just float across most stuff with those meats under it.
The most stupid combination were those 40-inch mudders on a 1979 Toyota Hilux with 5.70 gearing and about 8-inches of lift. Glad I got it out of my system when I did. ;^)
