Called "Rust Destroyer". Made in New Jersey, the Navy sposedly usses it instead of Red Lead. $29/gallon.
My goal is NOT to do such a restoration that it is apropriate to wax the undercarriage. If yours is, stop reading here.
My frame was uniformly rusty. No, I didn't strip it, it seemd good mechanically. But I did pull all the body apart, and bought another cab. Back to basics, I rented a super pressure washer, 13 horsepower, cost $100 day. It blasted everything down to pretty bare metal. All the loose stuff was gone, looked like clean cast iron. Then I washed it in phosphoric acid, rinsed well, and sprayed on the primer. Pretty heavy, about 3 quarts. Then painted with Rustoleum black. I've only just got the cab on 3 years later. Still looks good, for a frame that's been exposed all that time.
