first its best to determine what you have.

Post a picture first to help determine if you have a stock closed cab WC (sounds like you have a earlier model 1/2 ton)
or some hybrid made up from open cab or some other model put together (not uncommon for open cab military models to have had closed cabs added later, especially true in northern climates)

get us a serial number (Located on drivers side front frame horn, over the front left wheel)

Closed cab models had data plates on the inside door pillar on the paseenger side.

Does the closed cab have crank out or push out windshiled with sliders on the side to hold it open?

Whats the motor? A flathead six or was it replaced wit ha moden power plant?

If the stock straight six, try and see if its the original motor. Rased pad on front of block, near the head, on the drivers side should be a stamped number beginning wit ha "T" code. T207, T211 maybe?

are the bed sides there? Just the wood rotted?

Whats it look like?
