He will need paper work for the cab because it carries the vin number below the windsheild(On Chevy Trucks). The original title for the truck did not match the new cabs vin number. The cab was a 1978 and the truck was a 1973 things did not match up for the registration. Now it is registerd as a 1978 truck. Had this problem with my Chevy 1 ton I bought a while back. The owner had to trace the cab back and get a new vin number issued for the truck. The original owner of the doner cab had died and he had to get the family to sign off on it. He got it all done before I bought it. I knew it would be a nightmare if I tried to get it done. Mark H.
