IIRC, First several digits are mfg code, like bfg for B.F. Goodrich. Last 4 digits are weeks (1 to 52) and 2 digits for year, like 66. Or not. But I don't know when it started, 66 seems early...

19k on M/S truck tires was a LOT in the 60's.
