1990 Dodge W-250

Looking for ideas to improve the lousy coupler on steering box to steering shaft. I use my truck off-road from time to time, nothing real rough. Ive replaced that coupler from Dodge at about $110. 3 times in the last 5 years, due to excessive free-play. Would like to get or fabricate a u-joint for this, any ideas? This truck has the the Dana 60 axle (4500#). Thanks.
