They are electronic ignition systems out there that work. I think the fuel injection stuff isn't really worth the trouble. a nice upgrade would be a 4 barrel carb like an AFB Carter or an Edelbrock version of the afb. 318 Polys make quite a bit of power and with the 4 barrel should give you enough extra pull you desire.
