Dodge didn't. They were made by a small tribe of South American Indians who were handed down the secrets of the ancients. These indians took the crystals from certain plants and transmuted the raw white powder into a steel-like substance. This was then pissed on by a virgin princess. That is why they have so much power. In the 50's the CIA along with Nazis from Operation Paperclip, took over the project. It was run by one of the indians. His name.... Manual Noriega!
Unfortunately, a certain side-effect was discovered. The balls and brains of the drivers shriveled up. It was therefore discontinued.
