Hey all, I have a old 4 cylinder diesel engine than someone may want to do a repower with. It's a 144ci Waukesha model 180. It does turn freely and I got it off big 3 phave generator that's getting scrapped. Anyway, it has the same crank bolt pattern as a early, inline chevrolet 235ci motor, so a chevrolet or GM flywheel will bolt up to it. I has a SAE#4 flywheel housing on it now, but I have a 1940's GM bellhousing that could be adapted to the back of the block, and a Warner Gear overdrive 5 speed transmission that goes on the back of that.
The engine is non-turbo and fairly low power. I was told around 50 HP, and 115 ft lbs of torque is the rating on it. Fine for a tractor, but not so good for a full size truck. Might do allright in a WC51-52 though as they are relatively light.
It measuers 26" from the back of the head to the front of the fan, so it is a few inches shorter than the 230 ci engine.
It is complete with all the components and accessories including a Bosch injection pump. It did not have a starter, and it used the generator it powered as the starter, but there is a blockout plate on the flywheel housing for a 3 bolt starter. A starter off a Oliver diesel tractor would fit as they used the Waukesha 6 cylinder. If you use the GM bellhousing, obviously you would just need a GM starter.
Anyway, Id like to sell it as I picked up a IHC M-2-4 and a Perkins 6 cylinder that I have will fit in there nicely, but I need to get the crank turned on the Perk, and a Clark bellhousing and transmission.
Make a reasonable offer on the engine Overdrive transmisson or just all the stuff seperatly.
Located n Washington State.
