id start with a new c channel frame. with a stronger frame and a 'blank slate' fitting the drivetrain (cummins, trans & married transfercase) would be easier. if money were no object then id have dana 60 front and dana 70 rears modified to the correct track. one of the m37 guys did it pretty easily and posted how on the m37 page. you get bulletproof axles with dodge wheels and lug patterns. in addition if im not mistaken, the 1/2 has a longer nose than the ffpws evidenced by the fact that a 265 spitfire fits without pushing the radiator or the firewall. personally id buy a donor cummins dodge, and a new 4BTA tweaked to make the same power as the 6bt. you then can take the front accessories off the 6bt - such as the powersteering and alternator and put them on the 4. a pumped up 4 with all accessories will fit. id run vintage air (i like ac) and i would do the truck bone stock in appearance after that. i'd make the cummins look period with a tan pantjob and black accessories and try to militarize it a bit. 1100 16s on combat rims, helitool disc and powersteering. id do hydroboost like paul in ny and id do a rear arb locker. air can be supplied by an engine driven compressor that you can put on the cummins 6bs. wolf in sheeps clothing is how id address it. but if it were me and i could choose a different rig, id do a 3/4 ton as its a much better truck. a panel you say? have the master fill in the windows to create a 3/4 panel.
