This truck has a 251, so I have debated whether I even need to grind or replace the cam. The only real advantage I am seeking is more speed going up hills/mountains than the 230, and enough speed to occassionally drive on the interstate.

Can you describe the specific advantages of a high performance cam? I was thinking of just replacing the gearing with 4.89s.
