Been there,done that. It's always cool to go for that first ride and I've been on several. I've worked on several of these trucks 57-59 and own a 59 W200 and although I don't profess to be an expert by any means I would like to offer any help that I can. Are you sure it's a Hemi? Not doubting your word but it amy be a poly 315. If it has the plugs in the valve covers it is a Hemi, if not a poly. My friend has a poly 315 in his 57 Townwagon with a 3 speed and it runs quite well. How far are you going with putting it back on the road? You said this is a friends truck what are his intentions? Just curious when one pops up on the radar. Keep up the good work, one more, where are you located? Thanks
