mike, the guys are right( for the most part). the size is definitely too long.the 3-53 in my wc63 is a tight fit. major engineering and modifications to make it fit. the weight would also be a problem. the engine alone weighs 1260 lbs. it was rated at 105- 185 hp.depending upon how it was outfitted.a blown o ring? detroits used a compression ring to seal the combustion chamber not a head gasket like most. could this be what he is talking about?there are orings in it but most are used for controlling oil leaks or coolant leaks.as far as power or oil leaks detroits are just like other engines. if not properly maintained they can become problematic.the supercharger you refer to is merely an air handler in this application. it blows out the cumbustion gasses while blowing in fresh air.it does not increase your compression ratio . that's what the turbo is for.for 50$ it's a steal. i looked long and hard for the detroits i have and paid good money for them.i'm jealous.too bad your not on the east coast i'd be talkin a deal with ya.good luck, jim.
