I had this same problem. Mine would build pressure as I drove for short trips and the brake light would stay on for a while after parking. I adjusted the freeplay at the master cylinder. In my case the pushrod was not retracting all the way. By not retracting, the relief port is covered by the push rod and system will build in pressure. I loosened the push rod(pedal freeplay) and it cured the problem. The pedal needs to travel about 3/4" before it plugs the relief port.
