Not saying an MU-2 won't work, but wasn't the 1/2t version someting different (guessing MU-1?) As I saw a restored 1/2t VC at the Hampton, Va. MVPA Ralley back in 89?, and the handle was on the right hand side if I remember correctly.
3/4 tonners came with a winch frame or without a winch frame. My WC56 Command Car I added a winch to required frame extensions that were not military :( , whereas my brothers WC 57/58 Command Car has a longer frame for a winch from the factory.
Did that transfer (10 hole PTO) have a neutral so you could power the PTO, or was it an in/out deal when moving along down the road?
