I am not a rocket scientest, and I am sure that there are others that can ad to this, but, I have restored cars for twenty years, and I have found that hood ornaments, mirrors, trim, ect. Were made with an inexact mixture of pot-metals, kind of a witches brew of what ever the manufacturer threw togeather. At the time of manufactur, no one envisioned or cared that that particular piece was ever going to be rechromed. This contributed to the pitting and the difficulty of being able to rechrome a particular piece. Look around to see if there are any reproduction pieces, or junk yards that might have the paticular piece that you need. Rechomeing usually streachs the pocket book. But an experienced chrome shop can usually handle the project, but will be priced according to difficulty. Tomas
