well, lets go back to 1942...the army wanted a
cargo / weapons carrier truck that was more rugged
and would carry a larger payload, so..the 3/4 ton
series of Dodges were born...many models made from
the command car to the ambulance...with a weapons
carrier in between. The WC-51 is a 3/4 ton 4x4
weapons carrier without a front mounted winch.
it's brother the Wc-52 was identical except a
front mounted winch was added. These trucks were
made through 1945 with many surviving through
service in the Korean war. Check out the link
