I would replace the points and condensor and also the cap and rotor. If you can get "Blue Streak" ignition parts with the brass rotor and plug studs in the cap, that may help. I would suspect weak points that are flopping on the rotor cam inside the distributor. You may just find the hold down screw to be loose. The condensor may also be bad as it is the "cushion" for electrical demand in the primary circuit. I'll bet that once you finsh a good tune up, you'll notice the skip is gone.


I can look around and find some of my vintage truck repair manuals if this doesn't work.
