I am currently sandblasting 4 combat rims I recently bought. I have a compressor and purchased a portable sandblaster attachment for $40. It is ALOT slower than the proffesionals, but it gets the job done. I am using silica sand which will take off paint/heavy rust.
If you don't have a compressor, I would either buy a compressor and sand blaster attachment and plan on spending some time blasting, or pay to have it done. $125 seems like a reasonable price for 6 rims.
